The Self

“True to oneself! Which self?” (Katherine Mansfield)

In 2018, we’ll be tackling the thorny question of The Self in poetry. We’ll be exploring its presence and absences and interrogating the productive tension between identity and persona, self and mask.

We’ll also consider how poetry can be used to engage with aspects of the self, making the personal political and giving voice to identities otherwise unheard.
