Johann Reißer

Johann Reißer (born 1979 in Regensburg) is an author of prose, poetry, and plays. He also works as a director and actor with different performance collectives, producing his own pieces on topics covering economic liberalism, colonialism, city development and war, which have been performed in theatres and at festivals across Germany, Austria and the UK. In 2012 he finished a PhD on new paradigms in German poetry after 1960. Johann received the Jury Prize at the 100Grad-Theaterfestival Berlin 2010 and an Alfred Döblin Scholarship of the Academy of Arts Berlin in 2014. He has been a writer in residence in Regensburg, Rottweil, Pfaffenhofen and Esslingen.
