Leyla Josephine is a poet and theatre maker from Glasgow. A graduate of the Contemporary Performance Practice BA at Scotland’s Royal Conservatoire, she facilitates and creates theatre in different social contexts. In 2013, she won The Avrom Greenbraum Players Award for her direction of an original piece ‘Break It’. Leyla has performed as a poet all over the United Kingdom and as far as afield Tokyo, New York and New Zealand. In 2014, she won Rally and Broad’s Cultural Commonwealth Slam at The Tron Theatre in Glasgow, as well as Hammer and Tongue’s UK National Slam at The Royal Albert Hall in London. Her work has been published in Gutter Magazine and The High Flight fanzine.
