The Korean poet Ko Un, along with his translator Brother Anthony, offers insight into his poetry

Allen Ginsberg described Ko Un as “a magnificent poet, combination of Buddhist cognoscente, passionate political liberation, and naturalist historian.” Widely acknowledged to be Korea’s foremost contemporary poet, Ko Un has published 156 books, including over 70 poetry books. Brother Anthony, who has lived in Korea since 1980, is an acclaimed and prolific translator. He received the Korean government’s Award of Merit (Culture) in 2008 and in 2015 he was awarded an honorary MBE by the Queen. In this intimate session, they will discuss their collaboration.
