Poetry interventions on plant labels by Gerry Loose

As well as writing poetry, Gerry Loose designs and makes gardens, and his poetry is as likely to appear in those landscapes as on the page. He sees his “poetry interventions” on plant labels as a natural consequence of botanical nomenclature. In 2010 he explored this idea for StAnza, creating a poetry trail from the Preservation Trust Museum garden into town. Happily, the work has weathered the years since then and will make a repeat appearance in the Preservation Trust Museum Garden.
