Poetry Café: Catherine Wilson, Hannah Raymond-Cox

Friday 9 March, 13:00 - 13:50
The Byre Theatre, Abbey Street - Studio Theatre

Lunch and lively poetry from two of the best poets to emerge from Scotland’s spoken word scene

Spice up your lunch (included in the ticket price) with spoken word from two young poets who are guaranteed to make you ask for more. Catherine Wilson’s poetry ranges from the laugh out loud to the tragic, with more than a cursory nod to the absurd. She’s performed at the Edinburgh, Prague and Brighton Fringe Festivals and has written poetry for the British National Gallery and BBC Radio 4. In Hannah Raymond-Cox, we welcome back the StAnza Slam champion of 2016. Hannah will be performing an edit of her debut spoken word play Polaris, a hopeful coming of age story which celebrates queer identity and the redemption found in the perfect chocolate brownie. Polaris has enjoyed a sold-out Scottish run and was recently recommended by the NI Critics.

Sponsored by Stuart’s the Bakers of Buckhaven.

Poetry Café lunches include meat and macaroni pies (on a first come, first choice basis), with a beer/lager or a soft drink. Please let us know in advance of any relevant dietary requirements, quoting your ticket number, and we'll do our best to offer you a suitable alternative.
