Off the Page
The continuing growth in popularity of spoken word (and of forms like Instapoetry) have encouraged poets and readers (and listeners) to re-imagine the relationship between poetry and the page on which it might be written. As a festival, StAnza has always existed at the intersection between written and spoken word, between poetry on the page and the stage – but also poetry on walls, windows, skin. This year, we’re taking this further, exploring the materiality of the poem and asking precisely what happens when it’s taken off the page.
