Kick off your StAnza experience with an all-day workshop led by Helena Nelson

Join us for the very first event of StAnza 2019: an all-day creative writing workshop enabling you to practice new techniques and learn how to polish your poems, with plenty of time for your own writing. This year's workshop will be led by that powerhouse of Scottish poetry, Helena Nelson: poet, editor and publisher, and the force behind HappenStance Press.  This will be a practical, hands-on session aiming to identify and nurture the element of surprise in poems. It will involve reading and discussing published work; writing and thinking; and some gentle self-editing.

You are invited to send in two of your poems of no more than 20 lines for Helena Nelson to see in advance. Once you have purchased a ticket, please email the poems with a note of your ticket number to stanza@stanzapoetry by 14 February and they will be forwarded to her.

Tea and coffee will be available. Please bring your own snack lunch. After booking, please email stanza@stanzapoetry.org for directions to the venue, which is in a private house in St Andrews.
