Martin Figura returns to StAnza with his new witty and tender show about surviving life’s catastrophes and wounds

Is there a mathematical equation for love and the behaviour of a beating heart? Doctor Zeeman’s Catastrophe Machine is the new stage production from award-winning poet Martin Figura. In this standalone show, Martin tells the story of his adulthood in his own inimitable way, using sound, images, poetry and a mathematical machine to journey through marriage guidance, a father/son road trip and his daughter, who has Down Syndrome, leaving home for college. Poetic storytelling with searing honesty, wit and fun.

Direction by Rob Watt. Produced by Tilt and funded by Arts Council England, with support from Norwich Arts Centre and Writers’ Centre Norwich.
