This Border Crossings session brings together two poets whose interest lies in exploring the story and forms of their home culture and language. Richie McCaffery has both a literary and an academic focus on Scottish literature, earning his PhD as a Carnegie Trust Caledonian scholar. He is the author of two full collections, Cairn (2014) and Passport (2018), and editor of two works examining the poetry of Ian Abbot and Joan Ure. He will be reading alongside Catalan poet Josep Pedrals who works to bring the poetic form to a variety of stages, be it radio, television, or theatre. He performs internationally, and has received awards in various contests, including the Osaka International Slam in 2009. For his published work, he was awarded the 'Lletra d’or' prize in 2013 (for the best Catalan book) and the Time Out Barcelona - Best Artist of the Year 2014 prize.
