Border Crossings

Sunday 11 March, 14:15 - 15:15
The Undercroft, St John's House, South Street

Reading: Polly Atkin, Gerry Loose

Don’t miss our final Border Crossings session of this festival! Reading today are two poets interested in site-specific poetry. Polly Atkin also explores in her work the intersections between poetry and Disability Studies, the written word and the body. Her first full collection, Basic Nest Architecture, appeared in 2017 and she’s previously won New Writing North's Andrew Waterhouse Prize for evoking “a strong sense of place or the natural environment”. She reads alongside Gerry Loose, whose work has won him many awards as well as being translated into a number of languages. His work is informed by his botanical, ecological and geopolitical background and can often be found in botanic gardens and wild landscapes.

Participants: Polly Atkin and Gerry Loose
