Border Crossings

Friday 3 March, 14:15 - 15:15
The Town Hall, Queens Gardens - Supper Room

Reading: Norman Bissell, Kayo Chingonyi

Join us in this Border Crossings reading for two poets who engage with this year’s different festival themes, The Heights of Poetry and On the Road. Norman Bissell was a founding member of the Scottish Centre for Geopoetics, and his continuing interest in Scotland’s geological heritage informs his work as a poet, essayist and reviewer. He will be reading alongside Kayo Chingonyi, a Zambian-born, London-based poet, whose upcoming collection Kumukanda (meaning ‘initiation’) considers the rites that immigrants and exiles pass through in the absence of their native culture.

Participants: Norman Bissell and Kayo Chingonyi
Kayo Chingonyi: Naomi Woddis
