Border Crossings

Thursday 2 March, 11:30 - 12:30
The Town Hall, Queens Gardens - Supper Room

Reading: David Wilson, Janette Ayachi

Our first Border Crossings of 2017 brings together two poets whose writing plays with this year’s two festival themes: On the Road, and the Heights of Poetry. Janette Ayachi is a Scottish-Algerian poet, many of whose poems started off life as travel reviews before being condensed into poems. Her work also explores ideas of the supernatural, and the intertwined relationship between poetry and visual art. David Wilson is a climber, and his debut collection Slope celebrates all that makes mountaineering a compulsion. Out of this Wilson develops themes of risk, loss and motivation.

Participants: Janette Ayachi and David Wilson
Janette Ayachi: Mark Husmann
