Al Buntin was the StAnza 2009 artist in residence. Having previously worked as an illustrator in the greetings card industry in the US and Canada, he now lives and works in Monifieth, Angus. He has always been keen on photography, and took it up seriously about 25 years ago with "people" being his favourite subject: "They are everywhere. People at work, at play, on the street, in pubs, clubs, sporting venues, and festivals." Recently, digital photography has opened up a new chapter, with explorations of digital imagery and manipulation.
