Grevel Lindop lives in Manchester, where he works as a freelance writer. He has published six collections of poems – most recently Playing With Fire (Carcanet, 2006) – and his prose work includes travel books and biographies as well as an award-winning Literary Guide to the Lake District (1993). His Travels on the Dance Floor (Andre Deutsch, 2008) was a Radio 4 Book of the Week and shortlisted for Travel Book of the Year, and a Selected Poems appeared from Carcanet in 2001.
