A regular feature of StAnza from the start, the festival’s exhibitions have varied considerably over the years but always reference poetry in some way. Ranging from poet/artist collaborations through artist’s books, kinetic poetry, installations, photography and concrete poetry to floating exhibitions on the festival’s Poetry Boat (2004 & 2007), the visual art programme has included artists of the calibre of Will Maclean and Elizabeth Ogilvie and acclaimed poets such as Alec Finlay and Gael Turnbull.
StAnza’s Artist in Residence for 2010 was Jay Bernard, poet and comic strip artist, who captured moments at the festival on her sketchpad.
