Kei Miller: a workshop on how sometimes short can be sweet

This event took place on Sat 20 March
Public Library Meeting Room, Church Square

Poets are often said to be lovers of flowery language and addicted to strange polysyllabic words. This two hour workshop with Kei Miller, StAnza’s Poet in Residence for 2010 and creative writing lecturer, will explore some of the rhythmic advantages to having quite another impulse, the occasional bout of ‘hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia’ – the fear of long words. Some notes from Kei may be available in advance. Please email works@stanzapoetry.org in advance for copies of these, or ask at the Festival Desk on 18th or 19th March.
