His awarded winning poetry has been published in the New Shetlander, Shetland Life and Lallans, and he is a familiar face on the Glasgow poetry scene. His translations of Federico Garcia Lorca's poetry into Shaetlan have been performed as part of the Edinburgh Fringe and Hispanic Festivals. In 2008, he was one of four applicants from sixteen selected as a mentee on St Mungo's Mirrorball's inaugural Clydebuilt apprenticeship scheme.
