Rod Paterson is widely recognised as the foremost male traditional singer in Scotland. One of the founding members of Jock Tamson's Bairns, he has also performed and recorded both as a solo artist and as part of The Easy Club, Ceolbeg, and various other bands. He has made many radio and TV appearances, including on The Transatlantic Sessions (with Emmylou Harris and Phil Cunningham). He has also recorded the new definitive series of discs of the songs of Robert Burns (of which he is a renowned interpreter).
