Alec Finlay works as an artist, poet and publisher. Recent publications include Avant-Garde English Landscape (2005) and Waterlog: Journeys Around an Exhibition (Film and Video Umbrella, London, 2007). Recent artist projects include a residency at the new observatory, Kielder Partnership, for which he created One Hundred Year Star-Diary. His most recent exhibition was thoughts within thoughts (with Pravdo Ivanov) at ARC in Sofia, Bulgaria. Born in Scotland, Alec moved to Newcastle in 2002 as the first artist in residence at BALTIC. His studio is now based in the Ouseburn Valley.
