Winning junior poets from Fife Schools

Check out the rising poetic talent from our local schools as discovered in the winning poems from StAnza's annual Children's Poetry Competition on display in The Byre foyer throughout the festival.
The annual StAnza competition is open to children resident in Fife or to Fife schools
The deadline for competition entries is March 2nd 2009
Categories: There are three categories for entries as follows.
Primary school: Junior (P4-5) & Intermediate (P6-7).
Secondary school: Senior (S1/2).
Rules For Entry
Poems: Submit one poem only, of your own, original and unaided work, on the topic of Homecoming. The topic may be interpreted in any way.
Submission: Poems may be either typed or clearly hand-written. The text of the poem should be on one side only of an A4 sheet.
Inclusions: Entries MUST be clearly marked with the entrant's name, age, school year, and a contact address. The contact address may be either class and school address (for entries submitted by schools) OR home address and telephone number (for entries submitted individually).
Send individual entries to: StAnza Poetry Competition, 9 Pipeland Farm Steading, St Andrews, Fife, KY16 8NL by March 2nd 2009.
Prizes & Prizegiving
Prizes: Book prizes will be awarded to the winners and runners up in each category.
Prizegiving: Winners will be invited to receive their award at the StAnza Poetry Festival Children's Show in the Byre Theatre, St Andrews at 2pm on Saturday 21st March.
Prizes will be presented by poet Carol Ann Duffy & musician John Sampson.
Display: Winning entries will be displayed in the foyer of the Byre Theatre, St Andrews during the StAnza Festival (March 18th - 22nd 2009).
